Good 70's Cheese
If you've never seen the movie, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, it's about time you do! You'll get to see The Bee Gees, Peter Frampton, George Burns, Steve Martin, Billy Preston (as Sgt. Pepper), Aerosmith, Alice Cooper, Earth Wind & Fire and a bunch of little cameos by lots of other famous folks like Tina Turner. (Billy Preston via Sgt. Pepper Scrapbook)
If you don't know anything about this flick, it's a 1978 movie musical with adaptations of Beatles songs. It got criticized pretty harshly when it was first released and caused the Bee Gees some degree of embarrassment. Now that there's a little distance, I think it is pretty entertaining to revisit all these stars in the late 70's, especially the scene with Steve Martin, doing his version of Maxwell's Silver Hammer. I found this mysterious blog created in March '08, called Sgt. Pepper's Scrapbook, it's filled with bits of trivia and photos from the movie. BTW, if you are not sold yet, the movie has a gigantic burger featured in the middle of town, it's perfect for when you need to watch a little on-screen cheese! Here's the trailer if you're wanting more....
