Hobbit Tree Haircut & Crafty Shade Idea

This past weekend our big and beloved backyard hobbit tree underwent a little trim. It was much needed as half the tree was starting to die on one side. Now it is looking much healthier, but it is also pretty thin and a little bare at the moment. It is very sunny in the backyard now. This new look has got me thinking it would be nice if some type of umbrella was acquired to ward off the extra sun. Then I noticed this awesome idea from Craft magazine. It is a big shade tarp made of recycled umbrellas. This one is in the back patio of the super cute LA store, Reform School. How awesome does this look? I guess it is time to go umbrella thrift-ing.
